Privacy policy

This policy covers floodcomparefl.com, the flood quote request form on it, and the secure page we send you if we need your paperwork. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

From the quote form, only what you type into it. That is the property address and its physical details, your flood history and current coverage if you tell us, the coverage you are asking for, and your name, email address and phone number so an agent can reach you. For a commercial request it also includes the business name and a description of what the business does.

The form also records a reference code and the time elapsed between loading the page and sending it. Both exist to filter automated submissions.

From the secure upload page, if we send you one, the documents you choose to upload and a few details that come off them. Those can include your date of birth, your current policy number, your current premium and limits, and your mortgage lender and loan number. We ask for these on the secure page rather than on the website because they are more sensitive than the rest, and because a carrier needs them to finish a quote. Everything on that page is optional. Leave anything blank that you are not sure about.

Why we collect it

To prepare a flood insurance quote and to contact you about it. That is the only purpose. We do not use quote requests to build a marketing list, and submitting one does not sign you up for anything.

Who sees it

Licensed staff at this agency, and the insurance carriers and wholesale brokers we approach on your behalf to obtain a quote. Nobody else. We do not sell your information, we do not trade it, and we do not pass it to lead aggregators.

Documents

If we need your elevation certificate or a current declarations page, we will email you a secure upload link. That link is unique to you, expires after 21 days, and can only be opened by someone who has it.

Please do not send those documents as ordinary email attachments. Email is not an encrypted channel and those files often carry more personal detail than the quote itself.

Uploaded documents go into a private folder that only this agency can open. They are not stored in the spreadsheet where we track requests, and the details you type on the secure page are kept in that same private folder rather than anywhere else.

Cookies and tracking

The quote form keeps your answers in your own browser's session storage so you do not lose them moving between steps. That data stays on your device and is cleared when you finish or close the tab.

We set no advertising cookies and run no third party advertising trackers on this site.

How long we keep it

Documents and the details that come off them are deleted 180 days after your request is finished. That happens automatically. It is a shorter window than we keep anything else, because those files carry the most personal detail.

Quote requests that do not become policies are kept for up to two years, because people often come back at renewal.

If a policy is issued, records are kept for as long as Florida insurance regulation requires.

You can ask us to delete a request sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

Write or call and you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. We will confirm in writing. There is no form for this and no waiting period beyond the time it takes a person to do it.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. We do not maintain a mailing list, so we cannot notify you directly, and this page is the current version at any time.
